Savor the bounty of Niagara’s flourishing food scene this summer and fall as local brewers, winemakers and chefs set up shop at a plethora of fun food events. No matter what your favorite kind of fare may be, you’ll find it in Niagara County. Here are the can’t-miss culinary events of 2023.
1. The Niagara Wine Trail Wine Festival
July 1, 2023
Thanks in part to its unique microclimate, Niagara County has carved out a name for itself in the world of fine wine, and connoisseurs flock to downtown Niagara Falls, NY every summer to sample the wares of famed regional wineries. All ages are welcome to the general Niagara wine festival area for shopping, but tasting areas are limited to 21 and older, so be sure to plan accordingly.
2. Lockport Food Fest
August 13, 2023
For one day each summer, local restaurants line up along Lockport’s Main Street, offering samples of their best dishes. For entertainment, there’s live music all day and a dedicated family area complete with games, art, activities and resting areas for young children.
3. Niagara County Peach Festival
September 7-10, 2023
Heading into its 65th year, this beloved peach festival in Lewiston is a celebration of so much more than everyone’s favorite stone fruit. Carnival rides, live entertainment and a parade provide fun for all ages, while the variety of food options ensure nobody goes home hungry. Just make sure to save room for the signature peach shortcake — it’s a Niagara tradition.

4. Harvest & Hops Festival
September 23-24, 2023
Lewiston’s premier fall festival, Harvest & Hops features more than 100 artisan vendors, myriad craft beer purveyors and a farmers’ market full of autumnal produce. Set along a shut-down Center Street, the Hallmark-like atmosphere invites food festival visitors to explore, meander and stay a while.
5. Tap & Craft Festival
October 21, 2023
Sample the wares of more than 30 craft breweries, cideries and wineries while enjoying live music, vendors, food and games at this annual beer and wine event in the Niagara Falls Convention Center. A general ticket grants you access to unlimited three-ounce samples plus the chance to chat with craft brewers and winemakers. Live music, food and yard games round out the experience.
