Fall for Free: Guided Nature Hikes in Niagara Falls USA

Fall into a Niagara Falls hiking experience like no other.

With various difficulty levels, hiking in Niagara Falls USA can be easy, affordable and fun for the entire family, including your four-legged furry friend! 

If you’re seeking a guided hike, or want to learn more about the great outdoors, partake in one (or all) of the Niagara Region Interpretive Programs Office activities offered this fall and winter. Witness the beautiful fall foliage on a number of hiking trails, all while enjoying a leisurely workout. All pre-scheduled programs are FREE and intended for individuals and families. October 6: Stroll at the Falls

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Join us for a casual stroll to Prospect Point and around Goat Island to view the Falls and explore what makes this park unique!

October 7: A Stroll Along the Gorge

Artpark, 450 South Fourth St., Lewiston
10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. As summer ends and fall begins, traverse the trail along the gorge in Artpark in search of indicators of the changing seasons!

October 7: Tales of Tightropes and Daredevils Walk

October 14: Forest Bathing—Connecting with Nature

10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Awaken your senses, be in the present, slow down and reconnect with nature. The walk will conclude with tea under the trees (tea not provided).

5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. It’s not always rainbows and sunshine at Niagara Falls… Take a tour around the park with a Ranger and a Park Naturalist to uncover the more morbid Dark Side of the Falls. Must be 16 years or older, all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

October 27: Fun Facts with Kelly—Wildflowers

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Search for changing colors and enjoy the fall wildflowers as we stroll along the gorge in pursuit of nature’s art.

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Enjoy a leisurely walk with your dog and Park Naturalist. It is not necessary to have a dog to participate, however, all dogs in attendance must be up to date on immunizations, leashed, and under control.

November 9: Pumpkin Painting and Cider

5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Take a walk around the park and find your inspiration to paint a pumpkin with eco-friendly, plant-based paint while enjoying some hot cider!

November 10: Fun Facts and Falling Foliage

10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Come out for a stroll on the accessible path around Reservoir State Park! Enjoy the crisp air and embrace the November weather.

November 11: Gorge at Low Water

10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Autumn is a great time to hike! Join us and enjoy the Niagara Gorge after the volume of water is the Niagara River is reduced by 25%. We will take you past the Whirlpool to the site of the Great Gorge Route station and beyond. This hike is challenging (stairs and scrambling over rocks).
